Pages, Bandzoogle, Wix or Squarespace for musicians

Booking requests, dates in Google, languages, press kit, fees and what you can take with you: four builders side by side, with prices checked in October 2026.

By Joan Subirats, founder of The Jazz Passport 14 October 2026 9 min read

Over the years I have built more than fifty websites for fellow musicians. When I went back through the sixteen I still host, none of them was set up to do the one job a musician's site has: help someone who has never heard you decide to book you. That is the yardstick for this comparison. Not which builder has the most templates, but which one helps a venue, a festival or a couple planning a wedding find your dates, hear you and write to you.

Here are four options side by side: Bandzoogle, Wix, Squarespace and Pages, the one we make. We tell you where each one is strong, including the others, and where Pages falls short today.

What to look at before comparing

A builder's home page shows you templates. What decides whether the site works for you is less visible:

The questions that matter

  • Can you use your own domain, and what does it cost after the first year?
  • Where do booking requests land, and can you answer them quickly?
  • Do your dates reach Google as events, with the venue and the ticket link?
  • Can the site speak the languages of the places you play, each at its own address?
  • Is there a press kit a programmer can open without asking you for it?
  • Do the statistics count every visit, or only the visitors who accept cookies?
  • What fees come on top of the plan when you sell music, merch or tickets?
  • If you leave, what can you take with you?

Bandzoogle

Bandzoogle is built only for musicians, and it shows. It has its own audio player with play statistics, an electronic press kit that can be downloaded as a PDF or protected with a password, a gig calendar that can sell tickets and sync with Bandsintown, and a mailing list included in every plan. It charges no commission on music, merch or tickets: only the payment provider's fee.

Its calendar publishes your dates to Google as events. Languages are its weak point: there is no native multilingual site, so a second language means duplicating pages by hand or paying for a second site. You cannot export the whole site either, although pages export as PDF and subscribers and sales as spreadsheets.

Prices (paying yearly, per month): Lite 9.16 USD, Standard 14.16 USD, Pro 18.33 USD, with a 14-day trial and no card required. The cheapest plan caps pages, tracks and mailing-list subscribers. Bandzoogle pricing

Wix

Wix is a general builder with apps for musicians: Wix Music to upload and sell tracks, Wix Events for gigs and tickets, and an app for Bandsintown. Its great strength is languages: the free Wix Multilingual app gives each language its own address and adds the hreflang tags search engines use to show the right version.

What to watch: ticket sales carry a 2.5% service fee, the Light plan cannot take payments, and Wix's own help says its traffic reports only count visitors who accept cookies. A Wix site cannot be moved to another host. There is a free plan with Wix ads and no custom domain; prices vary by country, so check them on Wix's plans page.

Squarespace

Squarespace is known for design. Musicians get an audio block, embeds for SoundCloud and Spotify, a Bandsintown block, calendars and an online store with Printful. Its event pages reach Google as events automatically, and its built-in cookie banner can hold back what needs consent.

Languages are not native: the official route is Weglot, an extra service that is free only for one extra language and a small number of words, and needs your own domain. The cheapest plan takes a 2% fee on store sales. Export is partial: the blog and basic pages go out as a WordPress file, but not audio, store or calendar pages.

Squarespace offers a 14-day trial and no free plan. Its prices and available plans depend on your country; annual payment costs less than paying month to month. Check the quote for your country on Squarespace's pricing page.

Pages

Pages, by The Jazz Passport, starts from the job: getting you booked. A booking form on your site asks for the kind of event, the date and the place, filters out spam, and lands each request in the Studio Inbox and in your email; you reply straight to the sender. The dates you add in the Calendar appear on your site with the venue, the city and the ticket link, and include MusicEvent structured data. Google requires a separate page for each concert to qualify for its event search experience; Pages currently publishes the dates together. Google's requirements

Your published dates, with the venue and the ticket link.

Each site can speak several languages, each at its own address with hreflang; AI drafts the translation and you review it. Press kit and rider can live on private pages, by secret link or password, kept out of search. The statistics count visits without cookies and without a banner. Your own domain connects with the certificate issued automatically, and the whole account can be downloaded as one file.

Where Pages falls short today: you cannot sell music, merch or tickets from your site. Pages is free during the beta. Pro costs 144 € a year (12 € a month), or 15 € month to month, VAT included. The first 50 musicians can reserve the founder price: 86.40 € a year (7.20 € a month), for as long as they stay. Pages pricing

Which one, for whom

There is no single winner; there is the one that fits how you work.

Choose it if

  • Bandzoogle: you sell a lot of music and merch from your site and want a mailing list today
  • Wix: you want complete freedom of layout and many languages
  • Squarespace: design matters most and you will rarely change languages
  • Pages: your site's job is getting booked, in the languages of the places you play

Think twice if

  • Bandzoogle: you play in several languages
  • Wix: you want statistics that count every visit
  • Squarespace: you need your site in two or three languages
  • Pages: you need a shop right now

Whichever you pick, buy your domain in your own name, put your next dates where a booker sees them in seconds, and keep the press kit one click away. A site that does those three things is already working for you.

Your site, without the website work. Reserve your place.

Pages is the site and the Studio for musicians by The Jazz Passport. The technical side is done; you bring the music.
